Starfield Windows Registry Keys...

1
4k1r4 (talkcontribs)

Hello,

It would be nice to have the required install path registry keys for those who migrate installs to a location and the location did not have the first time startup create the required registry keys in the system registry.
    The keys are:

HKLM --> SOFTWARE --> WOW6432NODE --> Bethesda Softworks --> Star Field (Notice the space.)

The string value in the: " Star field " key is:

InstallLocation

The data for the string value is:

%DRIVECONTAININGSTEAM%:\%FOLDERCONTAININGSTEAM%\SteamAPPS\Common\Starfield

         An example: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamAPPS\Common\Starfield

Flawless Widescreen support for Starfield released

HaYDeN : "Initial fix for Starfield If you have any existing INI overrides defined relating to FOV or SafeZone they may need to be removed."

Fixes : - FOV - HUD - photo mode pillar boxing removed - aspect ratio for resolution>21/9 - FPS limiter disabler

I don't own the game so I can't test it, but if it works it seems to be easiest than all ini tweaks...

I tried to get Flawless Widescreen to work for Starfield, but when the game is launched, it detects it and shows this: Resolution=640x480, Aspect=1.333, Monitors=1x1, Bezel Comp=False

It thinks I'm running this game on a 640x480 4:3 monitor, when in fact it's a 3840x1600 ultrawide.

If more people can confirm that it's working for them, it would be great to include it alongside INI tweaks. But we should not remove the INI tweaks as they do not require any third-party software, are easily adjustable and work on both Steam and Gamepass versions.
