I can confirm your findings partially:

Riverbond has a requirement on EGS as it doesn't support signing in to EOS without it. I've updated the article to indicate the EGS requirement.

Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun restarts itself through EGS if launched without it running, though that requirement can be bypassed using the -EpicPortal command line argument. However while the EGS requirement can be bypassed, the EOS requirement cannot. So even if you launch the game using the argument, you'll still be prompted (once) to sign in to your Epic/EOS account through a web browser on launch before you're able to play the game. That article has been updated to indicate the EOS requirement.
