The reference video to the claim of DXVK's miraculous perfromance benefits has been removed and after installing it I think the game might actually be running worse.

Jigen123 (talkcontribs)

Unfortunately this miraculous placebo DXVK "fix" is spreading everywhere with people claiming pretty much impossible performance gains.

KainXVIII (talkcontribs)

But DXVK actually helps in some games (Crazy Taxi for example)

Patrxgt (talkcontribs)

And it also helps in Borderlands games, due to low quality implementation of DirectX API.

Also had a noticeable improvement in Kingdoms of Amalur: Rereckoning (or whatever that game was called).

So from what I can gather online, it helps because AMD drivers for directx are really bad and it does not do much for Nvidia gpus. Vulkan was based on AMD's mantel, so it makes sense they would have good vulkan drivers. Although I can't find any rigorous testing, only comments on different threads.

In any case, I don't think such unsubstantiated claims, as "consistent frame-rate throughout and FPS increase around 200%" should be present in the article, especially when it's just copy and pasted to different games which might behave differently. Since there's no reliable source for it right now it should be properly disclosed and it should be noted, that it might only help for AMD gpus.

I have GTX 970 and DXVK helped in my case with Crazy Taxi.

"and it does not do much for Nvidia GPUs" But it does in games, that has bad DirectX implementation like Borderlands games, that runs on UE3. For my RTX 2060 with everything on max (PhysX also cranked up to high) it jumped from 80 fps to 210 fps in 1080p.

The "magical" DXVK. lol

KainXVIII (talkcontribs)

🤦‍♂️

Patrxgt (talkcontribs)

"The "magical" DXVK. lol" It isn't magical, it just helps with poor PC ports lol
