Black Screen

A black screen can sometime occur when running the game. This may be caused by not being able to run cinematics correctly. Disable cinematics to fix this issue.

Disable Cinematic

The executable DevicePicker.exe can be run to disable cinematics.

Files can also be deleted manually by emptying the folder:

\Red Storm Entertainment\Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six\data\video

After searching on the internet, I found some really old (like almost 10 years old) posts describing the problem, with the solution being to run the "DevicePicker.exe" from the game disc and disable the intro cinematics. This didn't work for me, and after some troubleshooting of my own I was able to manually remove the cinematics from the game directory, and now I can play the game fine. The directory for the videos is:
