Fixing crashes on Windows Vista/7 64-bit machines

If you have installed Soldier of Fortune and then got excited to boot it up only to find Windows saying SoF has crashed before it even boots up (probably at most the screen will go grey), then you will need to replace a ref_gl.dll in the directory. Please ensure you have a backup copy of Soldier of Fortune in case anything goes horribly wrong ;)

1) Download the ref_gl_fixed.zip file from the website. 2) Open the Soldier of Fortune directory, and extract the ref_gl.dll file inside the downloaded zip into your Soldier of Fortune directory, overwriting the original. 3) Start up Soldier of Fortune to see if the fix worked correctly.

Widescreen support

If the highest resolution you can get is only 1600x1200, then you may wish to fix that. Please ensure you have a backup copy of Soldier of Fortune in case anything goes horribly wrong ;)

1) Download the latest patch from this site. 2) Open the Soldier of Fortune directory 3) Extract contents of zip into the Soldier of Fortune directory, overriding any existing files.
