Black screen on start up or random crashes during the game

  • Don't run PAYDAY with Teamspeak 3 or Ventrilo - it can collide on start up and not start the game.
  • PAYDAY does not work properly with PhysX beta drivers, do fix it do the following :
  1. Exit Steam entirely.
  2. Uninstall NVidia PhysX from the control panel (use ADD/REMOVE program in Windows to do this)
  3. Go in your PAYDAY redist directory Steamapps\common\payday the heist\redist
  4. Run the DirectX installer DirectX\DXSETUP.exe
  5. Run the PhysX installer PhysX\PhysX_9.10.0513_SystemSoftware.exe
  6. Start Steam and play
  • ALIENWARE users make sure you have AlienFX installed.
