Skip the Intro

To skip the intro videos, edit "My Documents\EA Games\Mirror's Edge\TdGame\Config\TdEngine.ini", comment out "StartupMovies=StartupMovie", like so ";StartupMovies=StartupMovie".

Toggle Crosshair

To bind the F11 key to toggle the crosshair, edit "My Documents\EA Games\Mirror's Edge\TdGame\Config\TdInput.ini", and under "[Engine.PlayerInput]", add "Bindings= (Name="F11",Command="Showhud",Control=False,Shift=False,Alt=False)".

Custom Maps

Shorty after the game's release, a member of the on-mirror's edge forum found a way to open up the game's unreal editor, allowing for custom maps. Follow the directions provided on this link for more information.

DLC Unavailable on Steam Version

Unfortunately the Mirror's Edge Map DLC was never released on Steam.

Screen Tearing Problems

  1. Make sure you're not forcing vsync off in your driver settings
  2. Check the game's .ini file My Docs\EA Games\Mirror's Edge\TdGame\Config\TdEngine.ini
    1. adjust the 'smoothedframerate' in the inis to 0 & 60
    2. make sure vsync=true in the same ini

Massive Framerate Drops

  • AMD: Disable PhysX in the options menu.
  • Nvidia: Update to the latest drivers released from nvidia.com

Change Ingame Language for Non-Steam Versions

  1. Open the registry editor.
    • Windows Vista and 7: Type "regedit" into the start menu search bar
    • Windows XP: Type "regedit" into the "run" dialog [startmenu -> run]
  2. Change the directory to "Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\EA GAMES\Mirror's Edge" or "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\EA Games\Mirror's Edge".
  3. Change the "Locale"-Key on the right to en, de, fr etc.

(This may not work with all versions, confirmed with German retail)
