Developer Mode
How to gain access to Developer Mode to enter cheats and console commands.
To add a command line option for the game you need to create shortcut. Browse to the game's installation folder and right click on the MaxPayne.exe file. Choose 'Create Shortcut'. A shortcut icon should appear in the folder. Right click on the shortcut and choose properties. Select the shortcut tab. The command line parameters need to be entered at the end of the data in the 'Target' line. It should look like the line below:
"C:\Program Files\Rockstar Games\Max Payne 2\MaxPayne2.exe" -developer
Punctuation and spacing is important. Move to the very end of the line and press Spacebar once then enter the desired command line parameter (including the hyphen)

-screenshot | Enables the F10 key for taking screen shots. Screen shots are saved to the "screenshots" folder under your Max Payne 2 installation folder. |
-nodialog | Skips the Max Payne 2 startup dialog when loading the game (uses options previously set). |
-skipstartup | Skips the startup video. |
-disable3dpreloads | If the system runs out of texture memory while loading a level, this option may prevent the game from crashing due to a driver error. |
-window | Runs the game in a windowed mode, in the resolution selected from the Max Payne 2 launch dialog. Not all 3d accelerators support running in a windowed mode. |
-novidmemcheck | Disables the video memory check at the start of the game. |
Advanced Command Line Options
These should only be used by advanced users while developing mods.

Issues & Fixes
Windows 7/Vista Sound Fix
An issue exists for Windows Vista/7 users in which a large majority of voices in cutscenes and normal gameplay won't play.
However this fix will not work on most Vista or 7 systems, either having no effect whatsoever due to badly named files, or delete all the game's sound files altogether and causing crashes on startup, making it entirely pointless.
Videos/Game Crashing
Crashes and failure to load videos for the game, for the Windows 7 64-bit operating system, the best way to fix this would be to go to where the executable is. That is, in your Steam folder, and then right clicking the executable and then going to "Compatibility" tab and then set it to run on Windows XP and running as administrator. If you are running an AMD card make sure it's not version 12.8 or it will not run. If the game won't start but shows up in task manager, run the game in compatibility mode windows 95/windows me, then make sure you run the game from steam.
