The Fallout 2 Restoration Project is strongly recommended- it includes many mods that make the game more accessible (easily set the resolution for example) while only adding content that was originally planned to be included by the devs but were cut for time/budget reasons.

Windows 7 rainbow color glitch fix: To fix the rainbow color glitch users may experience when running Fallout 2 on Windows 7, follow these steps. 1. Right click on your desktop, select screen resolution 2. Click "Advanced Settings" 3. Leave window open, start Fallout 2.
