Die Hard: Nakatomi Plaza (Improved Edition)

Recoil animation lowered, bullets hit register and distance fixed, enemies reaction to damage fixed, disappearing dead bodies fixed (most of them), infinite enemies respawning disabled, and more small fixes.
Probably developers last minutes changes hurt the game. Need more fixes and tweaks but now gameplay better and feels more like how game should play.
  1. Install patch v1.04.
  2. Download latest version of DIE_HARD_Improved_Edition .exe installer.
  3. Open .exe and install to <path-to-game>.

Notes

Boss type enemies completely unchanged, general enemies AI behavior unchanged.
Recommended to play "Hard" difficulty, for now is only difficulty have some balance after fixes.

Notes

The given values are for 16:9 FOV and 1920x1080 resolution. You can change them to your desire. higher 4:3 resolutions also work. 1400x1050 tested.

Notes

Running a game in windowed mode disables vsync, unlocking frame rate. To avoid issues with the game, make sure to limit the frame rate.

Black Screen Under Water

Use dgVoodoo 2
  1. Download dgVoodoo 2
  2. Copy D3D8.dll, D3DImm.dll and DDraw.dll from MS folder that comes with dgVoodoo2 to the installation folder.
  3. In-game settings: change resolution to lowest (640x480)
  4. Inside dgVoodoo 2, go to DirectX tab, change resolution to 640x480.
