'''MATTHEW DIACRISIS'''

Matthew never knew his parents, he was left at the door of the Quebec hospital in Montreal, still a baby in 1944. Rumors that his mother died in childbirth spread, and that his father, without a job, had to join the navy to battle on the other side of the world to fight Nazis. Taken care by a very humble nurse, Matt swayed between orphanages and the care of his foster mother. They were difficult times, but even without his parent idols, Matt did not grew up among thieves. 𝔄𝔡𝔬𝔩𝔢𝔰𝔠𝔢𝔫𝔠𝔢 At the age of 14 he decided to leave school and explore the Gulf Sea. Growing up near the sea and the rivers tought him how attractive the world was, perhaps because he never really had a home. At 16 he meets a sailor on the port who teaches him to shoot, defend himself, and taught him how to sail. Surprised by this, he decides to enlist in the navy, with much effort gets the documents for his recruitments at age 17.

At that time, Canada sent troops to South Korea to pacify the struggle against communism. They needed experienced navigators, and Matt was one of the candidates, at first he did not have that ambition but after reflecting, he dedicated himself to the tests and was chosen among numerous soldiers. He spent five years observing a country post-civil war and helping in the public and economic calamity that plagued the place. When he returned he received a Lieutenant's license and a return ticket to his hometown. Far from the navy and close to his adoptive mother he could live moments of joy, and he met a woman who will become his wife. He marries at age 26. The following years he started a family and continued in the navy. For good political performance among the officers, he receives the rank of captain and his own troop, the following years were of intense administration and command of soldiers in rescue missions, assaults and special operations.

The Major sits with Matt and explains the need for a new prison for political prisoners, a place that is secret to the public and away from the Cold War newspapers. He would not be very far from the family, he could visit them on vacation, some cities only distance, but he was threatened that if he did not accept, he would not be able to transfer them. Matt would be perfect for service because he would control the prison troops, he decides to accept but was immensely sorry when he discovered what the main purpose of the Exillar Prison is. They were not only political prisoners, but also a hole for leaders of criminal factions, from countries that could afford to pay for exile. The worst fact was a decree legalizing the sentence of death in prison, the law that extinguished the method a few years in the country had no jurisdiction there and some prisoners faced the death row by electric chair. Matt had to work hard inside, no matter how his personality was formed, nothing prepared him for that day-to-day monotony, in addition to daily threats, that was a place psychologically nourishing. His family noticed his difference in humor and lack of patience over the years, but they were his only refuge. Inside he always seemed distressed and worried, and so his anger grew in him. He was now his own devil.

Amber decides to remain silent for the investigations on the case, because government agents were threatening her family to loose their pensions. To make things worse, Major signs a transfer request with intent to push her away: puts her to work in a maximum security prison, the ''Exillar Prison''.
