Darksiders
Deceived by the forces of evil into prematurely bringing about the end of the world, War – the first Horseman of the Apocalypse – stands accused of breaking the sacred law by inciting a war between Heaven and Hell. In the slaughter that ensued, the demonic forces defeated the heavenly hosts and laid claim to the Earth. Darksiders, originally known with the subtitle Wrath of War, is an action-adventure video game developed by Vigil Games and published by THQ. The game takes its inspiration from the apocalypse, with the player taking the role of War, one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. The PC version was released in North America on September 22, 2010 through Steam, at retail and through OnLive September 23, 2010, in Australia September 23, 2010 and in Europe September 24, 2010.

My 3rd party controller has messed up button mapping

Cutscenes do not play
Check that Windows Media Player 11 or better is installed on your system. Codec Packs have been known to interfere as well. Ex. LAV Filters. Uninstall any codec packs.
Could be caused by the AMD logo introduction.
Rename "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Darksiders\media\videos\AMD_Logo_movie" to something else.
Game freezes at initial black screen
Unplug your keyboard, then start the game, then plug the keyboard back in.
Disabling intro logos
To make the game reach the menu faster rename the following files to something else. All of them can be found under
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Darksiders\media\videos\
AMD_Logo_movie.wmv main_menu_intro.wmv start_screen_intro.wmv THQ_Logo1280x720.wmv Vigil_Logo1280x720.wmv
