  1. Opt out of the Steam beta client.[1]
  2. Re-enable the Steam service:
    1. Exit Steam.
    2. Type "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\bin\Steamservice.exe /Install" at the Run prompt.[2]
    3. Restart Steam.
  3. Delete "ClientRegistry.blob" and "AppUpdateStats.blob" from "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\".[3]
