My xbox core controllers seem to have a higher amperage draw when powered on compared to previous controllers, so when using old rechargable batteries with a higher internal resistance the light blinks once and the conotroller fails to turn on. If I connect it through USB briefly to supply that initial power spike it will turn on. Old controllers don't have that problem. Tested on 2 core controllers (model 1914), 1 one s controller (model 1708) and 1 original one controller (model 1537). Would be nice if anyone else can confirm to add it to the wiki, test if some batteries that won't turn on the core controller work in some of the older models
Are you using official rechargeable battery pack from Microsoft? Because otherwise the unofficial ones are most likely just the cause.... Are you sure they haven't worn out/broke down over the years? Also very unclear thus what batteries you have and with which controller they work and which not. Please provide thus more information so we can actually help you.
No, older more degraded rechargeable NiMh batteries don't work with the CORE controller as the controller seems to draw more power when powering on. I have tested it with two different CORE controllers and it happens, while OLDER xbox one controllers work just fine. I'm not looking for help, I only had to buy new AA's, I just wanted to know if someone else that has the older and newer models can confirm it
