Key Points

Windows and Mac versions cannot play online together and are sold separately on Steam (not Steam Play).
Windows version is poorly optimized and CPU-heavy.

All Windows versions require Steam, including retail.
There are two seperate versions of the game on Steam. One for Windows and one for Mac.

Black Ops Advanced Config Tool

Available from this post in the Black Ops forum on Steam. Allows the user to further customize his or her graphics options and settings.[1]

Call of Duty®: Black Ops requires an initial hard drive space of approximately 24GB to download and install the game via digital download (8GB of compressed files, 8GB of decompressed files and 8GB of installed files). Upon installing the game, 16GB (compressed and decompressed files) may be deleted from the hard drive. Please make note of where the compressed and decompressed files are being saved on your hard drive in order to later locate these temporary files for removal. }}

Version differences

Mac OS X players cannot play multiplayer with Windows players and vice versa. Other features from the PC version are not included:[1]

 *Friends – Players cannot invite or join via request to a multiplayer server.  Public multiplayer is all that is offered.

It also includes the First Strike DLC which contains 4 multiplayer maps and one zombie map.
