Assassin's Creed

From PCGamingWiki, the wiki about fixing PC games
Revision as of 17:08, 12 September 2012 by Citadel (talk | contribs) (Robot: Cosmetic changes)

Assassin's Creed is the first game in an award-winning historical fiction open-world action-adventure stealth video game. The player explores and experiences several historical cities, prowling and preparing to assassinate targets. The layers of politics and conspiracies alongside the relatively realistic free running system create an entertaining and immersive environment.

Due to the game's age, performance quality should be no problem for a modern computer.

Patches

The game is currently at version 1.02. It is heavily recommended to patch to the latest version.

Issues and Fixes

Character Audio Problem

When you have 5.1 or 7.1 surround sound enabled, characters voices can be lost or inaudible. This can be fixed by switching to 2.1 Stereo.

Controller won't work properly

Download the file below "Xbox Controller Fix.zip". Unpack both files(x360ce.ini and xinput1_3.dll) in the main Assassin's Creed directory. This method will also work with Assassin's Creed 2, Assassin's Creed Brotherhood and Assassin's Creed Revelations.

For advanced users and an updated version of the DLL just go to x360ce download page and download the corresponding DLL for your system. You can also download the program to create the ini for your particular gamepad.

Game Audio Plays, but no visuals

Go into the Assassin's Creed directory (for Steam that would be located at $\Steam\steamapps\common\Assassins Creed), and swap the names of the files AssassinsCreed_Game and AssassinsCreed_Dx[version]. Then run the game.
