The Steam Machine is a line of pre-built PCs which run SteamOS, a distribution of Linux. Steam Machines are an effort by Valve to bring PC gaming into the living room setting and can be seen as an attempt at competing with console gaming, e.g. the Xbox One, PS4, and WiiU.
