Standard Steam troubleshooting is required. Verify the integrity of the game cache, and run Steam and the game as an administrator.
If it's still not working, right-click the game's executable, click Properties, click the Compatibility tab, and then check the options to run in compatibility mode for Windows 98/ME. Also check the option to disable desktop composition.
AMD Graphics Poor Performance
Known issue with AMD cards. This can be resolved by turning shadows off.
Corrupted Textures Or Black Boxes On Screen
This issue is caused by anti-aliasing being forced by the AMD Vision Engine Control Center. Set anti-aliasing to 'Application Controlled'.
Unresolved Issues
No Invert Y-Axis Option
This game does not include a native invert y-axis option.[1]
The utility SakasaMouse or Polynomial's Mouse Inverter will invert y-axis on the mouse controls, and is reported to work in the game. Using this driver will also invert the y-axis mouse controls for all aspects of the game, including menu items.
The Walking Dead does not recognise any analogue stick inversions using Xpadder.[2]
