Baldur's Gate
Released in 1998, RPG Baldur's Gate (known as Baldur's Gate 1 or BG1) takes place along the Sword Coast in the setting of the Forgotten Realms. The player character is an orphan raised in Candlekeep, a fortress turned library, by the mage Gorion. The protagonist is pursued by the warrior Sarevok and in the end learns the truth of their relationship.
In 1999 the Tales of the Sword Coast expansion pack was released. This raised the experience cap and included new spells, quests, and items. Additionally there were some improvements made to the game engine.
