Nexuiz was licensed to IllFonic, who has developed the game to run on the CryENGINE 3 engine. Reports are that the late beta has been buggy, and that there are many issues with matchmaking and other gameplay bugs.[1]
Nexuiz Classic (2009) refers to the open-source game developed by Alientrap, running on the DarkPlaces engine, a heavily modified Quake 3 engine.
