Save Game Slowdowns
Having a lot of savegames can cause the game to momentarily freeze while loading the "Save Game" screen (most noticeable due to music pausing for a second).
This HDD bottleneck problem can be solved by cleaning up the SaveData folder: %USERPROFILE%\My Documents\My Games\XCOM - Enemy Unknown\XComGame\SaveData
Old unused saves should be either deleted or moved to another location.
Mods
- The mod "Second Wave" can be used to unlock gameplay options that were put into the game, but locked by the development team.
