Complete Mod
It is also recommended to download the Complete Mod. It contains major bug fixes, A.I improvements, upgraded shaders, new higher resolution textures, sounds, music, weather and visual effects. It also provides several game breaking cheats, and has not been updated since April 2011. Many other mods that solve specific problems are more up to date, so it is recommended that you seek out a smaller more up to date mod to fix or change whatever you seek.

You can see FPS-counter and other stats by typing in the console: rs_stats on. rs_stats off toggles it off.
Performance increase with the "4GB patch" on Windows 64-bit
Note: Make sure to backup the executable before patching even though the 4GB Patch program makes a backup itself.
