Topic on Talk:Persona 3 Reload

Subjective mods etc.

20
Summary by Sandemc

An argument about whether graphical mods should be included or not.

Sandemc (talkcontribs)

Directed to Patrxgt.

Smooth 3 Reload: First point is covered by P3RFix and the rest is subjective improvements that are covered by the UE4 glossary.

Graphical Enhancement Mod: Breaks things. Subjective graphics mods are not obligatory on PCGW - also covered by the UE4 glossary.

Better Ambient Occlusion: Subjective graphics mods are not obligatory on PCGW - also covered by the UE4 glossary.

More RT Reflections: it also changes how RT reflections work in general, big no-no. The non-obstrusive method is in the Video tab.

Real Cat Emoji: how does this improve the experience in any way??

Patrxgt (talkcontribs)

Smooth 3 Reload: Rest isn't subjective and improves overall experience.

Graphical Enhancement Mod: Broken how? Also, not subjective.

Better Ambient Occlusion: Also not subjective.

More RT Reflections: Another lack of proper explanation. Also, the one in the Video tab doesn't covers everything this mod changes.

Real Cat Emoji: Makes game more believable (but yeah, subjective, shouldn't add it in the first place, sorry).

Also, "do not revert again until you give a good answer.". You aren't a mod/an admin and you shouldn't act as such.

Edit warring is not allowed regardless of your status.

Anyhow.

Smooth 3 Reload: TAA/TAAU improvements *are* subjective and are covered by the UE4 glossary.

Graphical Enhancement Mod: Broken by having literal flickering, it's on the nexus page, the game is not meant for these effects.

More RT Reflections: There's literally a "Force reflections" section in Video. The mod changes the settings for RT Reflections.

Adding any graphical features (GTAO, RTAO, SSAO, RTGI etcetc) that are not in the original release is 100% subjective and, since the game is styled, not recommended. Same with reshade presets and such, literally see the previous discussion topic - https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Topic:Xyvc9gljed4ve20k

Patrxgt (talkcontribs)

Do whatever you want, I don't care to explain myself to you. By the way, Graphical Enhancement Mod's artifacts can be fixed by changing SSGI quality, as stated on the Nexus page.

Baronsmoki (talkcontribs)

It's true that edit warring is prohibited. Since there's a dispute over the mod list, editors should try to reach a consensus on the Talk page without repeatedly reverting each others' edits.

I applied your logic to delete 'subjetive tweaks' like GTAO over SSAO on another context, and it fell flat. Surely you got a better argument to give? If we're gonna argue that's subjective, then, most tweaks and mods here are subjective, and therefore, let's delete everything, Sandemc lol

I said what I said already, lol. The game is stylized and all the graphical features it *should* have are already included. Tweaks such as GTAO are not the intended visuals, and as such, subjective.

Your example for P3RFix doesn't make any sense. How is a workaround by modifying TAA values (that can be seen from the glossary page) an improvement? Why is an objective fix that does not have any drawbacks and looks/works as intended not an objective improvement?

Sandemc (talkcontribs)

What are you even yapping about, I don't get your point

Aemony (talkcontribs)

I have banned Thedifference for being a sock-puppet account (created yesterday with zero contributions elsewhere) or simply randomly interfering when unnecessary and unasked for.

Sandemc deleting mods due to his subjective opinions? How the tables turned...

Sandemc (talkcontribs)

I've explained my reasoning - they're not essential to playing the game and don't exactly enhance the experience that much. I've added links to gamebanana and nexusmods as a substitute so if you're interested in more mods, you can just look for them.

Patrxgt (talkcontribs)

Mods sections never were meant only for "essential" mods (look up any other article, that has this section) and mods, that were listed there were actually enhancing the experience of playing this game in one way or another. So yeah, your "reasoning" isn't as right as you might think and it's quite subjective (for somebody, that tried to play a paragon of objectivity in this thread).

Stop scrutinizing this article so much, man. Remember, that this site is supposed to be community effort.
