Right then, I took a look and I worked out why it was doing that. It seemed to only trigger upon a restart of a stage. However, adding "-EpicPortal" to the Target URL of a desktop shortcut of the game fixed this, and ran without further issue.

So yes, the game is DRM Free, just in a different way than I expected.
