I think even more helpful would be a comparison screenshot however and link that in that same reference. Could look like this for example [1]

It's been a while since I played it and I also don't have it installed anymore but it sounded more like the general mipmap problem described in the above fix that I remember also encountered. That the FOV would have something to do with it sounded a bit odd and since I couldn't find any other reference I marked it as citation needed (in general all fixes should have some sort of reference).
