Apple.

PCGamingWiki does not concern itself with non-PC gaming platforms such as iOS or Android.

But you can play Android apps in emulators...

Aemony (talkcontribs)

Sure, but that's not enough for PCGW to cover it. If that were the case we would have to cover regular console titles like NES, SNES, N64, arcade machines, Wii, Wii U, Switch, etc as well.

And at that point what purpose does the "PC" part of the name serve?

PCGamingWiki currently limits itself to the three popular PC operating systems -- those being Windows, Linux, and macOS releases only. We don't even really cover Stadia (which technically runs on Linux) as it's a closed down streaming environment without any actual ability for the user to configure or customize anything beyond the minimal setting(s) in the game (usually just a Performance / Quality toggle).

I think some cloud gaming platforms should be covered if they have a program for Windows/Linux.

We also have many "native" Windows games, but who WILL actually play them in the next year?..

Player base is a more important factor than any technical questions IMO...

The whole wiki is primarily oriented around the technical aspects of PC gaming -- it wouldn't be PCGW if we dismissed the technical aspect of PC gaming. The primary aim of the wiki has always been to list fixes and workarounds for PC games.

Almost everyone? The number of players on native Windows far outstrips the number of players on streaming platforms.

---

The limited manner we might cover streaming services basically comes from supplementary store/platform features that we current cover. For example, it might be of interest to note somewhere that a Steam game is "GeForce Now enabled", or that a Microsoft Store game is "Project xCloud", maybe! It remains to be seen if, and if so how, we cover those aspects. That's something the PCGW staff and editors evaluates and discusses continuously as the landscape changes and new platforms or services are announced.

Nobody plays Quake 3 anymore. It used to be very popular.

I have nothing against technical aspects, but don't create something nobody would really use...

Audience first: if GPU cloud would be a thing next decade, then let it be...
