Btw while I'm generally quick to recommend linux left and right, [https://www.reddit.com/r/technology/comments/bjuoqq/blender_developers_find_old_linux_drivers_are/ the truth] is that if you are craving for the last drop of performance on <dx12 gpus there's no way you are gonna get it³. Not because I think Vulkan is *necessary* as most illiterate people, but because (save perhaps Intel's igp that weren't exactly known for having super good drivers to begin with) that's basically what got the latest and greatest optimizations of recent years.
