Gemini Rue
Gemini Rue is an Adventure Game Studio game, and therefore many tweaks that apply to it can also be applied to other games that run the AGS engine.
An issue with Windows 7 on laptops caused the developers Wadjet Eye Games to release an update to the game. This update made previous save games incompatible with with the updated game. [1]
Windows
Gemini Rue was also made available for digital download as part of the Indie Royale "Launch Bundle" 26 October 2011.[2]
Graphical Tweaks
Windowed Mode
Graphic option can be accessed in the file winsteup.exe
which is in the game folder:
- Steam:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\geminirue\reslists\
The option for windowed mode is 'Run in a window instead of full-screen'.
Change Resolution
Changing the 'Graphics filter' provides the chance to adjust the resolution between 640x400 to 1280x800, which is likely to be under the native desktop resolution. The window size cannot be adjusted in Windows, but can be changed using various utilities.
Borderless Fullscreen Windowed
Methods for creating a borderless fullscreen window with Gemini Rue:
These methods both work, but will cause stretching unless one's display is in the 16:10 ratio.
Save Game Data
Save Game Folder Location
- Windows 7:
C:\Documents and Settings\$USERNAME$\My Documents\Saved Games
- Steam:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\geminirue\saves
Replacement Save Games
The developer has released a number of save games (to help those whose save games were made incompatible with an update). These are listed in a post by Wadjet Eye Games on the Steam forums. Unzip the save game files in one of the above folders.
