Image scaling problem

Some users of the game, normally ATI card users using a HDMI connection rather than a DVI or D-SUB connection may have problems with Company of Heroes' resolution not scaling properly to their monitor. This is actually caused by the game forcing the resolution to be at 50hz (also caused by DirectX10) instead of 60hz. The way to fix this is to force the refresh rate to 60hz.

For your steam version right click on Company of Heroes in your library to navigate to 'Properties', then 'Set Launch Options'. Here enter without quotation marks: "-refresh 60".

For a retail version of the game right click on your Company of Heroes shortcut and navigate to properties. In your target box put (without quotation marks) "-refresh 60" after everything already in the box. So for example it should look like:

"C:\Program Files\Company of Heroes\RelicCOH.exe" -refresh 60

Steam version startup crash

The latest Steam version of this game won't start on some systems, crashing back to the desktop immediately. To solve this, navigate into the application folder:

steam\steamapps\common\company of heroes\

Now, replace the file XThread.dll with an older, un-patched version of this file. You can get this from a fresh CD installation or from several sources on the web.

Second monitor blacking out

When launching the game on a dual screen setup the secondary monitor will often be blacked out. To fix this hit alt+enter twice.

Skip Splash Screens

Navigate to the folder:

C:\Program Files (x86)\company of heroes\engine\movies\

Rename or delete the following files: divxintro.lua, divxmovie.avi, nvidiaintro.lua, relic_intro.divx, relicintro.lua, thqintro.lua, THQx.divx, TWIWMTB_1280x720.divx
