- If your Steam installation folder is in Program Files, there can be problems with saving your game. Move your game installation folder by seting up symlink or run game with administration rights.

Developer recommends these generic fixes: [1]
- If you are on a laptop, make sure your power settings are allowing your computer to run at max settings.
- Update your graphics drivers, audio drivers, chipset drivers and DirectX.
- Change process priority for the game to "high" in the task manager.
- Run the game in compatibility mode.
- Run the game with administrator privileges.
- Run the executable directly instead of from your Steam launcher (here:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\dustforce
). - Run the game in windowed mode and resize the game to be small.
- If you're on Windows, make sure you update your DirectX 9.0c (not just Dx10/11!) You can do that with this download.
- Move your game installation folder.
- Disable D3dOVERRIDER
- For nVidia users: open nVidia control panel, navigate to 3D Settings and lower everything to minimum values.
