Lead and Gold is a 2010 multiplayer game produced by Fatshark and Published by Paradox Interactive.
Game Won't Start
Delete renderer_settings.xml
Navigate to
C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\LAG\data\settings
and delete renderer_settings.xml and try to launch the game again.
Reinstall C++ Redistributable
Uninstall and reinstall the Visual C++ Redistributable. Windows 32 bit edition here. Windows 64 bit edition here.
Reinstall Physx
Uninstall the NVidia physX via control panel. Then navigate to
(%steam_folder%)/steamapps/common/lead and gold/installer
and run the the physX installer.
Change Physx settings
- Navigate to (%steam_folder%)/steamapps/common/lead and gold/installer and delete PhysX_8.05.26_SystemSoftware.exe.
- Download PhysX_9.10.0513_SystemSoftware.exe and place it in that same directory.
- In that same directory, open up the following files in note pad, and any line that has "PhysX_8.05.26_SystemSoftware", change it to "PhysX_9.10.0513_SystemSoftware".
- files.nsi
- leadandgold_installer.nsi
- installscript.vdf
Random Minimizing
Xfire does not fully support LaG, and will occasionally cause random minimization of the game while playing. Simply exit xfire before playing to prevent this.
Bad performance on ATI Cards
If you are experiencing graphics glitches or low FPS on a newer ATI card, try installing the latest drivers.
Cannot see Dedicated Servers
Navigate to
(%steam_folder%)/config
and verify that "MasterServer2.vdf" exists. If it does not, create one in note pad with the entries found in this forum post, and save it with that name to that directory.
