Custom Screen Resolutions

The game appears to support modern screen resolutions[1] (including 1080p) by editing an ini file.

  • In Windows 7, browse to %AppData%\Microsoft Games\Rise of Nations and open rise2.ini.
  • Change the number next to AllowAllResolutions from "0" to "1".
  • Launch Rise of Nations, click the "Options & Profiles" button, the "Graphics" tab, the "Resolution" drop-down box, and select your preferred display resolution.
  • If the drop-down box does not show your preferred resolution, edit the Windowed Width and Windowed Height= lines in rise2.ini.

Patching

When patching the game from the main menu an error may occur after the patch has downloaded. To prevent this error, run the game as an Administrator before patching.
