Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Future Soldier is reported to be a poor PC port with many bugs and issues that have not been fixed. For example, if one wants to access the settings whilst in-game, one must quit to the main menu.[1] Furthermore, there are many problems with the game remembering remapped keys.[2]
Video Settings
Video settings can be edited in the file located:[3]
C:\Documents and Settings\Username%\My Documents\Ubisoft\Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Future Soldier\default.cfg
Nvidia SLI Performance Increase
User r3mx_D has devised a performance increase setting for those using Nvidia cards in SLI mode.[4]
Using Nvidia Control Panel, one needs to apply settings to these exe files:
future soldier.exe and launcher.exe
And apply the setting:
Force alternate frame rendering 2
Save Game Data
Save Game Location
Issues And Fixes
Mouse Won't Work
Whilst the keyboard and mouse may be selectable within the game menu, but does not work in the game. This can be fixed by uninstalling the drivers for any installed gamepads.[5]
Unresolved Issues
Black Bars
Some resolutions and aspect ratio (in particular 16:10) are displaying black bars.[6]
