Not a definitive solution but it should work for now:

1- Install FFVIIHook

2- Once you get this mod working, open the console

3- Put "au.SetAudioChannelCount 10" (without quotes) and enter

4- The game will be no sound but no fear just do the next step

5- Open the console again and put "au.SetAudioChannelCount 0" (without quotes) and enter

6- Now the sound should be "fixed"
