This have now been implemented, with a few changes necessary to allow the Lutris icon to appear in alphabetic order as the rest of the icons.
The various template documentations and editing guide have been updated.

I tested it on my own user pages here: User:Faalagorn/Template:Infobox game and User:Faalagorn/common.css Seems to work for me, I placed Lutris as the last icon, but it can be swapped around.
There's a sample page with this implemented: User:Faalagorn/Apex Legends – you need to copy User:Faalagorn/common.css to Special:MyPage/common.css for it to show Lutris icon.
