Metal Max Xeno Reborn is a reworked version of Metal Max Xeno, originally released for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita in 2018, while Reborn was originally released for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch in 2020. Changes include a different art style and refined gameplay. Additionally, all CG scenes featuring art from artist Oda Non have been heavily altered or removed, and parts of the story were cut. Unlike CG scenes, dialogue character portraits from the original game can still be selected but require the player to complete the game first.
Despite the store page claiming that a controller is required, keyboards are supported. However, the game will always display controller button prompts regardless of actual input scheme. Additionally, there is no mouse support, so a controller is ultimately recommended.[3][4]
