The CD-ROM version is a complete edition which includes the Righteous Fire expansion and full speech (different from the Speech Pack add-on which only voiced some content).[4]

Spaceflight music slows down if no controller is connected.[2]
Use patched PRCD.exe[5]
  1. Download the Wing Commander: Privateer spaceflight music speed fix.
  2. Extract into the Privateer installation folder, replacing the existing file when prompted.

  1. Download the Wing Commander: Privateer spaceflight music speed fix.
  2. Go to Applications.
  3. Right-click the Wing Commander Privateer app and choose Show Package Contents.
  4. Go to Contents.
  5. Go to Resources.
  6. Right-click Wing Commander Privateer.boxer and choose Show Package Contents.
  7. Go to C.harddisk.
  8. Extract the updated PRCD.EXE here and choose Replace when prompted.
Set DOSBox joysticktype (alternate method)[citation needed]
  1. Edit the DOSBox configuration file.
  2. Change joysticktype=auto to joysticktype=2axis
  3. Save your changes.
  4. Choose your control mode in-game (it defaults to Joystick). Music will play normally.
If you decide to use a controller later, edit the file again and adjust this setting as needed.
