Question about Le Mans 24 Hours FPS

2
Lm670-4 (talkcontribs)

Hello, I've noticed that you were the one who edited the Le Mans 24 Hours page to include that the ~20fps cap can be removed. May I ask how to actually do it? I've put in dgvoodoo, but no matter what settings I choose, I can't seem to remove the horrible cap.

SargeCassidy (talkcontribs)

Apologies, but this user has been permamently banned due to repeat violations of the wiki policy. Their edits have also been notoriously unreliable. Sorry, but I don't think you'll get an answer.

Again; not following editing guidelines

Although your contributions show improvement, please put notes in correct rows, use more modern reference format (with url, title, date etc., see Doom Eternal page for example) and watch out for grammar mistakes. Please ask us on Discord if you have trouble with this and please do, because we of course don't want to have to temporarily ban you again :)

Johnmooth (talkcontribs)

Hey, this article is removed, don't break me!

Mrtnptrs (talkcontribs)

Also, the removal of the Timing related issues in-article link on the GTA: SA page was also very weird and done for seemingly no reason. So, did an undo on that. Please prevent from making more of these weird edits.

Johnmooth (talkcontribs)

Sorry, I forgot to remove this because i have typed at the last.

Mrtnptrs (talkcontribs)

Forgot to remove it?! It totally shouldn't be removed. That's why I undid it... Please stop making weird inconsistent edits like this: https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/w/index.php?title=NASCAR_%2715&diff=1358992&oldid=1358982 (having an FPS limit isn't the same as Vsync and when the game has no in-game Vsync option it should be set to false most often or Always on when it is forced by the game....) Last chance or I'll have to report you again.... Already gave you feedback again, which you don't take into account honestly. Also, you keep not asking for help while it has been strongly suggested multiple times.

Mrtnptrs (talkcontribs)

So, please refrain from making mistakes regarding notes, grammar etc. while also not asking for any feedback, otherwise you will get reported again.

Blackbird (talkcontribs)

Consider this ban a last warning for the continued breaking of the Editing guidelines and generally bad edits.

Hello, please take some time to thoroughly familiarize yourself with the PCGW editing guide, especially the section on article formatting. Edits made by you have been, while not majorly disruptive, consistently containing various mistakes (be it grammar, wrongly placed notes - see Grand Prix Legends or partially removing whole sections - see Paris Dakar Rally)

Additionally, I want to make sure that you have seen the new comments on your discussion with @Phyziyx and @Mrtnptrs and take some feedback from their responses: https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Topic:X8l5wq5utc0jza4u

Let me know if you have any questions, or feel free to join our Discord.

Johnmooth (talkcontribs)

Please, i just solving these things!.

SargeCassidy (talkcontribs)

I understand you, just please try not to make the same mistakes again.

Why create a page for a mod pack (re: GTA SA Next Gen+)

Have you read the PCGW rules?

Johnmooth (talkcontribs)

Trust me, this is unofficial release available for free.

Mrtnptrs (talkcontribs)

Phyziyx, you could have said this nicer. But indeed Phyziyx is right here, see deletion tage on the page itself. PCGW rules indicate that mods almost never deserve their own pages, only in very very specific circumstances.

Mrtnptrs (talkcontribs)

Also, for your future edits, your page contains quite some tiny mistakes, so it would be wise to just read through the PCGW editing guide fully once more and look through some well-maintained pages like Sackboy, Uncharted and Spider-Man: Miles Morales for good examples. It is quite hard to make a brand new page from scratch correctly when you don't have much editing experience on this wiki so far :)

Aemony (talkcontribs)

@Johnmooth: Thanks for contributing, though sadly this is the wrong way of doing so. The wiki disallows links to copyright protected material, so the archive.org link with a full copy of the game is not allowed.

Further on, based on the pack itself it seems to mostly be a bundle containing various mods prepackages alongside the game. As a result, we ended up questioning its inclusion further, and I have deleted the page as a result.

I recommend that you allow the mod package to at least grow in popularity and awareness somewhere else as a start, and if/once it becomes prominent enough, the mod bundle itself (meaning the mod data without the game files themselves) can be linked from the existing main Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas page in the Other Information > Mods section where it would be more appropriate.

Mrtnptrs (talkcontribs)

@johnsmooth Again, see you just created a new page for GeneRally, please look through the editing guide and look on other example pages as for example the taxonomy is wrong, availability should be indicated differently, "This game runs only with OpenGL adapters in the game." is a weird note honestly, how is FoV editable by editing tracks and using zoom?, ref has an error etc. Would really advice you to first get some more editing experience before making more pages to improve your skills first....

Mrtnptrs (talkcontribs)

Again, your last few edits were again of bad quality, as said, please improve this (and ask us anything you want on Discord) or I will have to report you for bad practices. Get the feeling you are refusing to read the editing guidelines and don't put much effort in to get things right. So, please prove me wrong :)
