Perhaps you had a different publisher/distributor? (tages was more of a EU system)
With a different DRM?

Or your version is newer and they used an updated version?

Cowbutt (talkcontribs)

Maybe; I got mine in the Ubisoft Classics boxset that they released to celebrate 25 years of being in business. I'm in the UK and the boxset has a UK BBFC rating of 15.

Note that I've not used ProtectionID or anything to look for Tages - only inferring that it hasn't because it works on Windows 8.1 x64.

Mirh (talkcontribs)

Interesting. Or they just included updated driver in the installer...

A check would be worth

OK, my system does have atksgt.sys and lirsgt.sys (i.e. Tagès DRM) installed and running, but I don't know whether these are from BGE, or one of the other games on my system. atksgt.sys has a digital signature dated 17 May 2009 14:38:23, SHA-1: c5ec9dd78e2b195e07b06e6c9b4d1e8235986554 and lirsgt.sys 17 May 2009 14:38:25, SHA-1: 8afa61e17ec6c4f321e2269effc46f5d30154cd6.

I can't seem to find either of these in the data1.cab and data2.cab or elsewhere on the DVD (using unshield from sourceforge).

Well, just run protectionID and you'll see.

Or just stop the relative process, and check if it's launched again when you start the game
