From PCGamingWiki, the wiki about fixing PC games
Following table does not indicate whatever the games are fully playable!
Game Translation Layer Starts? Playable? Recommended refresh-rate Recommended FPS cap Comment
Agents of Mayhem Proton 8.0-3
40 Hz 40 fps Crashes if the controls are set to gamepad.
Alone in the Dark (2008) Proton 7.0-4 / GE-Proton 7-41
60 Hz 60 fps Major graphical glitches. On Proton 7.0-4, seems fine on GE-Proton 7-41 and Proton Experimental and Proton Next. Switching to gamepad requires you to go to options and rebind a key to a gamepad and then the game asks you if you want to switch to gamepad.
ANNO: Mutationem Proton 7.0-6
60 Hz 60 fps No problems noticed.
Anomaly Warzone Earth Proton 8.0-2
60 Hz 60 fps Proton 8.0-2 fixes broken UI scaling.
Atomic Heart Proton 7.0-6
60 Hz 60 fps And all on minimum.
Bet on Soldier Proton 8.0-2
60 Hz 60 fps Main menu fails to load textures.
Blade of Darkness (2021) Proton 7.0-6
60 Hz 60 fps Seems incorrectly configured to run with Linux Runtime - after switching to Proton 7.0-6 - no problems.
Blood: Fresh Supply Proton 7.0-4
60 Hz 60 fps Requires updating SDL2 library.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Proton 7.0-4
60 Hz 60 fps Menu only supports keyboard and mouse, sadly.
Chasm: The Rift (2022) Proton 7.0-4
60 Hz 60 fps
Cruelty Squad Proton 7.0-4
60 Hz 60 fps Good luck getting the controls right.
Cryostasis Proton 7.0-4
60 Hz 60 fps May fail to render subtitles in menus. Edit config file and set shading model to 4 to bypass this issue.
Crysis Remastered Proton 7.0-4
40 Hz / 60 Hz 40 fps / 60 fps Can reach 60 fps by default, but it won't keep it - modifying settings or lowering the fps cap is somewhat required.
Crysis 2 Proton 7.0-4
60 Hz 60 fps I would probably recommend just that - 60 fps and all settings on High, DX11, High resolution textures. Alternatively bumping objects, shading and possibly even shadows to ultra should still provide 60 fps, but at that point will use around 20WAT of power giving approx. 1h 50min of playtime. Dropping refresh rate may also work.
Cultic Proton 7.0-4 / Proton Experimental
60 Hz 30 fps Performs really badly very often stutters and inconsistent frame times.
Darksiders 2 Proton 7.0-6
60 Hz 60 fps Crashes at startup. Requires d3dcompiler_47 to be installed via Protontricks. Also takes forever to get past title screen due to supposed dead API endpoint having absurdly high timeout.
Descent 3 Proton 7.0-6
60 Hz 60 fps Controls require a bit of work. But it runs.
Dead Rising Proton 7.0-4
60 Hz 60 fps No issues.
Deadly Premonition: The Director's Cut Proton 7.0-4 / Proton Experimental
x x Crashes after intro.
Deadly Premonition 2: A Blessing in Disguise Proton 7.0-4
40 Hz 40 fps Starts without issues, should probably be limited to 40 for smooth framerate. Requires some tinkering to get my hack running (instructions on Github).
Demonicon Proton 5.0-10
60 Hz 60 fps It may also require installing Net 4.5.2 with Protontricks. Any newer Proton seems to have .NET installer broken.
Death Stranding: Director's Cut Proton 7.0-4
40 Hz / 60 Hz 40 fps / 30 fps No problems noticed so far. Probably worth capping to 40 or maybe even 30.
Deus Ex Proton 7.0-4
60 Hz 60 fps Surprisingly starts without issues. But to make it playable, you'll probably need keyboard and mouse anyway. Or get really creative with your bindings.
Deus Ex: Human Revolution - Director's Cut Proton 7.0-4
60 Hz 60 fps Launcher is a bit annoying, but once you get past to it - seems to be a smooth sailing with FPS being pretty much locked at 60 and battery not draining too fast. Surprising, considering how bad frame pacing is on powerful PC on Windows.
Devil May Cry HD Collection Proton 8.0-2
60 Hz 60 fps Pre-rendered cutscenes are displayed upside down (or maybe even turned 180 degrees)
Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen Proton 7.0-4
50 Hz / 60 Hz 50 fps / 60 fps Can technically run the game without problems on settings maxed out at 60 Hz, but it will start using quite a bit of energy. Lowering refresh rate to 50 Hz should drastically reduce the amount energy used (alternatively lowering some graphics settings will also do the trick).
Echelon (2001) Proton 7.0-4
60 Hz 60 fps Awful to get it running, because of how bad the installation process that Buka Entertainement wrote is on Steam (with full of bugs CMD that tries to set up registry). Just get my executable that sets it, change the name of game's executable, put my executable in its place, clear everything from .bat file aside from the line that launches Echelon.exe. Run it from Steam, so it registers properly, then restore original executable in its place.
Fallout Proton 7.0-4
60 Hz 60 fps Hard to play because of its control method.
Fallout 3 Proton 7.0-4
60 Hz 60 fps High settings preset - no issues.
Fallout: New Vegas Proton 7.0-4
60 Hz 60 fps High settings preset - no issues.
Fallout 4 Proton 7.0-4
40 Hz / 50 Hz / 60 Hz 40 fps / 50 fps / 60 fps Depending on the settings. When using somewhere between Medium and High game preset, Steam Deck seems to have no issues doing almost locked 60 fps. But bumping some rendering options and lowering the cap may be preferable.
Gothic 2 GE-Proton 7-41
60 Hz 60 fps First run takes a while. It may also fail to play pre-rendered cinematics, but it runs just fine.
Hrot Proton 8.0-3
60 Hz 60 fps Seems fine after installing Steam OS 3.5.
Hyperviolent Proton 7.0-4
40 Hz 40 fps And the performance sometimes drops below 40 as well. Not exactly Steam Deck's or Proton's fault, as that happens natively as well.
Jets'n'Guns 2 Proton 7.0-4
60 Hz 60 fps Requires enforcing 1920x1080 internal and external resolution (or higher?).
Kingdom Come: Deliverance Proton 7.0-4
60 Hz 30 fps
Mafia Proton 7.0-6
60 Hz 60 fps Again - PC controls mapped to gamepad issues. But playable.
Mass Effect Legendary Edition Proton 7.0-4
x x Utter nightmare to get running thanks to EA App.... but it can run.
Max Payne Proton 7.0-4
x x Technically gets to menu, but loading a map causes tons of errors to pop up.
Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne Proton 7.0-4
60 Hz 60 fps No issues like with the first game. Just the controls need some work.
Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes Proton 7.0-4
60 Hz 60 fps
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain Proton 7.0-4
60 Hz 60 fps Seems fine.
Neodash Proton 7.0-5
60 Hz 60fps No issues so far.
Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous - Enhanced Edition Proton 7.0-6
40 Hz 40 fps No issues.
Phantom Doctrine Proton 7.0-4
40 Hz 40 fps Cutscenes has to be skipped manually before they finish or the game softlocks.
Prodeus Proton 7.0-4
60 Hz 60 fps Runs fine as long as you don't enable SSAO and SSR.
Prototype Proton 7.0-5
60 Hz 60fps No issues aside from occasional crashes - but that's probably the port.
Prototype 2 Proton 7.0-5
60 Hz 60fps No issues.
RAGE Proton 7.0-6
60 Hz 60 fps Textures used to be corrupted, but seem fine on 7.0-6. Gamepad controls have to be enabled manually using STEAM + Touchpad and then the game has to be restarted for any controls to even work.
Resident Evil HD Remaster Proton 7.0-4
40 Hz / 60 Hz 40 fps / 30 fps For whatever reason, it seems to be pushing GPU quite hard, so it's best to lower screen refresh to 40 Hz to extend battery life (it eats around 15-17 WATs then) or even 60 Hz, 30 fps.
Resident Evil 5 Proton 7.0-5
60 Hz 60 fps Requires installing fan patch to get rid of GFWL in order to run.
Resident Evil 6 Proton 7.0-5
60 Hz 60 fps Occasionally stutters really badly and that is despise a massive shader cache.
Ryse: Son of Rome Proton 7.0-4
Seems to have no issues looking great and running great, although a cap at 40 (or 30) is something I would recommend.
SimRail - The Railway Simulator: Prologue Proton 7.0-4
60 Hz 30 fps Can't rotate camera. It's possible it may be playable if a mouse is plugged it, but other than that - unplayable. FPS around 30.
SimRail - The Railway Simulator GE-Proton 7-34
60 Hz 30 fps Somehow despite not many changes to the code - it has no issue with camera rotation. 30 fps cap is pretty much required. Crashes on normal preset (one of the settings seems to be crashing it).
Sleeping Dogs Proton 7.0-4
50 Hz / 60 Hz 50 fps / 60 fps Runs at 60 fps without much of an issue. Bumping graphics to maximum (aside from AA) will probably make it run around 30 though.
Split Second Proton 7.0-4
60 Hz 60 fps Minor graphical glitches.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat Proton 7.0-4
x x Starts and run just fine with default (DX9) renderer. Switching to DX11 causes the game to crash at start up.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl Proton 7.0-4
60 Hz 60 fps No issues with performance from what I have played it. Full-dynamic lighting, high detail preset. Controls really hard to get use to.
System Shock: Enhanced Edition Proton 7.0-4
60 Hz 60 fps Music is missing. Controls need work.
System Shock 2 Proton 7.0-4
60 Hz 60 fps Controls need a work.
Terminal Velocity: Boosted Edition Proton 7.0-6
60 Hz 60 fps Controls need a bit of work.
The Bureau: XCOM Declassified Proton 7.0-4
40 Hz 40 fps Very heavy on CPU for whatever reason.
The Chronicles Of Myrtana: Archolos Proton 7.0-4
60 Hz 30 fps Runs. Getting it to be playable can be a bit difficult with the controls and all.
The Forgotten City Proton 7.0-4
60 Hz 30 fps Framerate is a bit inconsistent - probably worth just capping it to 30 or playing a bit with settings.
White Day: A Labyrinth Named School Proton 7.0-4
50 Hz / 60 Hz 50 fps / 60 fps Smooth sailing at pretty locked 60 fps (from what I have tried) and around 10 WAT usage. A bit surprising considering Denuvo.
XCOM: Enemy Unknown Proton 7.0-4
40 Hz 40 fps No issues what so ever. Although it might be worth setting the screen refresh to 40 and capping the game to that to extend battery life and make FPS consistent.
XCOM 2 Proton 7.0-4
60 Hz 30 fps Starts without issues, but getting a decent performance all of the times is a pain in the ass. Recommendation for me is to scrap default Steam Input profile, switch to gamepad in game's settings and then switch Steam Input to default controller.

Arabian Nights Proton 7.0-4
x x Serious issues with controls. It's possible that it can be fixed.
Archimedean Dynasty Proton 7.0-4
60 Hz 60 fps Loads of work is needed to get all 3 pages of controls to be mapped on Deck.
Asghan: The Dragon Slayer Proton 7.0-4
x x Can't install :(
Clive Barker's Jericho Proton 7.0-4
60 Hz 60 fps No visible issues so far.
D.I.R.T.: Origin of the Species Proton 7.0-4
60 Hz 60 fps Some freezes at times, but seems playable. Requires to some time to get controls right as well.
Grand Theft Auto 2 Proton 7.0-6
60 Hz 60 fps Game is capped to 30 fps anyway. Controls need some work.
Need for Speed: Most Wanted Proton 7.0-4
60 Hz 60 fps No issues observed so far. And barely any time is needed to configure controls as well.
Syndicate (2012) Proton Experimental
60 Hz 60 fps Getting to a point where EA App runs as intended takes quite a bit of time.
Tunnel Rats Proton 7.0-4
60 Hz 60 fps For whatever reason, this game that is a massive pain in the ass to run on Windows has no problems on Deck. Only problem is you need to install PhysX legacy drivers manually. Getting controls to be playable is also a bit of challange.
