User:Handlingcfg/Ray tracing on non-supported games

From PCGamingWiki, the wiki about fixing PC games

Screen-Space Ray Tracing

1. for DirectX 8 and older games you need to apply a DirectX wrapper (DgVoodoo_2 recommended)

2. install ReShade to the game

3. you need ray tracing shader to put reshade shaders folder on game directory. there are different shaders online.( marty mcfly ray tracing shader is recommended - with $5 price).

4. open reshade and activate ray tracing shader. You can modify shader settings-light strenght for more or less rt effect. with different settings, rt screeenshots above would be different

Note: For this technique to work, reshade need to access depth buffer. Anti aliasing in game settings and in dgvodoo settings needs turned off. As an alternative, post proccessing antialiasing shaders can be used from reshade, when you installing reshade, smaa and fxaa options are avaible inside standart fx's tab

For some games you need to select copy depth buffer before clear checkbox or need to change other settings, look for specific game in ReShade page for if depth buffer is accessible or not.
