Essential improvements[edit]

Finding multiplayer games[edit]

The master server does not work in game, to get around this follow these steps:

Use Steam's generic server browser[citation needed]
  1. Close the game if it's already running.
  2. On Steam, go to View > Servers.
  3. Click 'CHANGE FILTERS' and change the 'Game' to 'The Ship'.
  4. Hold down shift and select all of the servers in the list.
  5. Right click > Add Server to favorites.
  6. Start The Ship, then go to the server browser and go to the favorites tab.

Notes

Servers in the Steam browser show bots as players. Either check player lists individually or use the in-game favorites tab to see REAL player counts.

Skip intro videos[edit]

Use -novid command line argument[citation needed]

Notes

  1. 1.0 1.1 When running this game without Administrator elevation, activity in %PROGRAMFILES%, %PROGRAMFILES(X86)%, and %WINDIR% might be redirected to %LOCALAPPDATA%\VirtualStore\ (more details).
  2. 2.0 2.1 File/folder structure within this directory reflects the path(s) listed for Windows and/or Steam game data (use Wine regedit to access Windows registry paths). Games with Steam Cloud support may store data in ~/.steam/steam/userdata/<user-id>/2400/ in addition to or instead of this directory. The app ID (2400) may differ in some cases. Treat backslashes as forward slashes. See the glossary page for details.
