Field of view (FOV)

This fix breaks the zoom function and needs to be reapplied every time a new level is loaded.
Change FOV using console[1]
  1. Press ~ (tidle key) to open the developer console.
  2. Type fov XX (replacing XX with your desired fov).
  3. Press Enter to apply the new fov.

High frame rate

High frame rate[citation needed]
  1. Go to <path-to-game>\UDKGame\Config\UDKEngine.ini.
  2. Change MaxSmoothedFrameRate to a higher cap; alternately, remove the frame rate cap entirely by setting bSmoothFrameRate to false.
  • UDKEngine.ini may need to be set to read-only to preserve the changes.
  • High frame rates may result in noticeable screen-tearing on GSYNC monitors. Setting the game's Vsync setting to Fast in the Nvidia control panel helps alleviate this. This is not a common issue for Unreal engine games.

Notes

  1. 1.0 1.1 When running this game without elevated privileges (Run as administrator option), write operations against a location below %PROGRAMFILES%, %PROGRAMDATA%, or %WINDIR% might be redirected to %LOCALAPPDATA%\VirtualStore on Windows Vista and later (more details).
  2. 2.0 2.1 File/folder structure within this directory reflects the path(s) listed for Windows and/or Steam game data (use Wine regedit to access Windows registry paths). Games with Steam Cloud support may store data in ~/.steam/steam/userdata/<user-id>/297350/ in addition to or instead of this directory. The app ID (297350) may differ in some cases. Treat backslashes as forward slashes. See the glossary page for details.
