Cannot Get The Game To Run

A similar tutorial with attached sample registry entries can be found here.
Instructions[1]
  • Installing the game
Setup.exe as well as the game's executable file are 16-Bit files in some versions and as such will not work on 64-Bit operating systems without a workaround. The setup might also complain about the operating system not being Windows 95.

Install the game (Complete Installation) via Launcher.exe instead which is a 32-Bit file. (It will need the Windows 95 Compatibility Mode on modern operating systems). If the game cannot be installed, create a folder on the harddrive manually (eg. C:/GameBreak) and copy the content of the CD's WIN95 folder into it.

  • Getting the game to start
If the game does not work yet or could not be installed, further actions are required. Despite choosing "Complete Installation" the game will usually try to load most files from the CD and might not find it. Registry entries have to be added or changed.

The correct registry entries will be needed, else the game will either refuse to start entirely or crash upon selecting any of the minigames after launch. If the game is installed, the basic registry entries will have been created already. If not, see the aforementioned tutorial for sample entries. The important entries are located here:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Disney Interactive\SPAGUK\Paths (Name depends on the installed language)

The "CD" and "Global" keys must point to the CD's path. "Local" and "LocalCD" must point to the installation folder. If the game has not been installed, the local folder is the custom one (eg. C:/Gamebreak).

"CD"="E:\\Scenes\\"
"Global"="E:\\Scenes\\Global\\"
"Local"="C:\\GameBreak\\"
"LocalCD"="C:\\GameBreak\\Scenes\\"

To play the game without a CD, copy the entire CD content onto the harddrive and edit the CD paths in the registry accordingly. Launcher.exe can be used to launch the game, if the regular executable does not work.
