High RAM usage
- As stated by the developers, The Legend of Heroes: Kuro no Kiseki utilizes a dynamic asset caching system that attempts to store as much reusable game data as possible within system memory. The game adjusts the maximum size of the cache based on the amount of available RAM, so memory usage of 20+ GB or more on capable systems is considered normal behavior.[1]
- Dynamic asset caching massively decreases loading times when revisiting areas within the same play session, even on mechanical hard drives.
- This functionality can be hard-capped (up to 4GB, 8GB, or 16GB) or completely disabled in the options menu.
System requirements
- Due to the differences between the PC versions published by NIS America and Clouded Leopard Entertainment and the current lack of a definitive localized version of the game, the system requirements for both versions are listed below.

Notes
- ↑ 1.0 1.1 File/folder structure within this directory reflects the path(s) listed for Windows and/or Steam game data (use Wine regedit to access Windows registry paths). Games with Steam Cloud support may store data in
~/.steam/steam/userdata/<user-id>/1811950/
in addition to or instead of this directory. The app ID (1811950) may differ in some cases. Treat backslashes as forward slashes. See the glossary page for details.

- ↑ Our Version of Kuro no Kiseki does Not, in Fact, Have a Memory Leak - last accessed on 2023-03-03
- "...the default setting in Kuro does exactly that: it uses up to 80% of the available memory to cache loaded and decompressed assets. And this does mean that when you play for a very long time, and have a lot of main memory, you might actually see the game process using 20 GB or even more of it..."
