This Game has Support for Mac and Linux but both doas not support Direkt x. This should be made clear and explicit. In addition, the correct API should be pointed out.

There's a tooltip for Direct3D that says "only supported on Windows". This should be sufficient.

If you know what API Mac & Linux use, feel free to add it.

So why is one of them native and the other hackable? Command line arguments were always marked as hackable weren't they?

That is the case, yes. The "Display Mode" dropdown in the image suggests that maybe it's possible to achieve this without the parameter? I wouldn't know as I don't have the game.

If the command line argument is indeed required, it should be marked as hackable.

Ah I understand. You mean the note is just alternative to the UI option. That'd make sense.
