Can't Save Games in Recent Windows Operating Systems

You can fix this if you run the exe as administrator. (compatibility mode)

I remember now, I don't remember this working too well.

Okay so I've realized there's a very easy to tell if this works, if the splash screens are low res then it didn't work, if the text is suddenly readable however then the thingy worked.

This is a pretty ugly fix and if I knew what files were changed I'd just make something cleaner.

I doubt you will be able to make it any cleaner seeing as it modifies the exe

It patches the (cracked) executable to avoid stupid processor family check, which only allows higher details with Pentium 4
and fix another stupid check for VRAM that overflows with current GPUs

I'm testing Black & White on my laptop, I'm not sure this is due to my laptop being older or anything but, I don't seem to be experiencing the horrible framerate issue on Windows 10 as I did on Windows 8, however I won't really know until I'll use Windows 10 on my more modern desktop.

I'm starting to believe this might be a Windows 8 issue but I need someone to confirm this beforehand on Win 7 and Win Vista.

• Using any Windows comp modes displays the incorrect version number (if patched it will display version 1.00, always).
• Running the game as an admin completly changes where and what files are saved, two - three files from appdata are not even saved anymore when running the game as an admin.
• Not running the setup.exe as an admin results in everything fucking up, mainly the graphical settings not being properly saved, buggy options and whatever else might happen.
• Some miracles on Nvidia cards display incorrectly, such as the rain power, only dropping a few small particles instead of an actual rain.
• For some reason, not pausing during a certain dialogue will end with the game getting stuck forever.
• Installing any patch, either it be the 1.00 one or the 1.30 version, will always result in for some god damn reason in the music being removed.
• Black & White hates modern 64x OSs and powerfull Nvidia cards.
• Sub par performance when running on fullscreen, CPU usage up to 3% on a god damn quad core. Forcing the game to run with D3DWindower will somewhat have the game run properly, although for some reason the game still manages to drop frames once in a while, going often from 60 to 54 - 56.
• HEY, WHY AREN'T MY CUSTOM BINDS SAVING. They actualy are...but if you are running the game on a comp mode they'll always be overwritten by the default binds. Existing custom binds will also be overwritten once the comp modes are changed. Custom binds work fine when the game runs as an admin, bullshit.

After updating to the 1.3 (I think that's the right version, whatever the latest one is) patch, every time I start the game it stops responding with the message "hl has stopped working...". Note that hl is the description given to the process runblack.exe. I'm running win7 x64. Anyone having similar errors or know how to fix it?
