-nointro doesn't skip intro videos, or nowhere near all.

EAX is disabled and changing the ini does nothing. Original game uses OpenAL routed through FMOD. Don't use Alchemy because all that does it convert DirectSound3D to OpenAL. Converting OpenAL to OpenAL is pointless. Adding a openal32.dll just makes the game crash.

Mirh (talkcontribs)

I seem to recall I have read BS2 remaster still uses FMOD (so.. I'd expect this to use it too)

The only problem it seems, is that they dropped OpenAL, DShw and EAX support in 2010.

...

Just for the records anyway, using ALchemy in native OpenAL games, for as much as insane, still makes sense thanks to Creative wonderful intelligence, as discussed here.

Surround sound mode makes sound backwards?

Yomamaisonfier (talkcontribs)

Anyone else notice this? When turning Surround sound on, all the sounds in the game are backwards completely. Not only is sound from the left coming from the right, anything in front of you comes out of the rear speakers. Happens on 7.1 and 5.1 as well. Everything's fine on Stereo.

Could someone please edit in the rich information from this Reddit post?

But you are god. http://i.imgur.com/fN6Xr6n.png

Couldn't you ask the reddit guy instead? Or just paste the whole thing on the wiki, who cares if the instructions are ugly, someone will clean it up anyway.

God ownerOfTheUniverse (talkcontribs)

> But you are god.

How is that relevant to the topic? Can you not keep this informationally pure, must you insist on stirring things up?

Some had already asked the poster before I even thought of making a topic here. (see link)

And no, just pasting the info into the article without formatting is out of the question. If you think that's apt, why don't you do it? Because you know that it's wrong, and you don't want this behavior to be associated with your account.

All in all, you're not being helpful.

Most of the stuff was already there and I added the stuff that I did. It looked like crap but somebody fixed it. I'm don't really understand the markup code so I just try to copy what the other one's look like. Oh and I fixed the speaker entry to show all the different modes.

God ownerOfTheUniverse (talkcontribs)

Thank you. I also added the FOV ini edit info from the post. We're done here! :)

I was joking around, and you got it wrong, a lot of people often do not read these talk pages so it's not like it matters that much, but you shouldn't edit out what others say, I would rather look like a moron instead of having others edit what I post. Either way I didn't say that to be mean, I wasn't trying to stir up anything.

It's better to add any important info on the wiki pages than to lose it forever, even if it looks ugly. It's a good habit seeing as, a lot of people often forget to check out these talk pages, so they might never add the content they were planning to write on the wiki pages.

TL;DR: It's better to add good info in its messy state instead of nothing at all. Nothing wrong with it, it also keeps the wiki more accessible, and people aren't afraid to edit the pages, or withhold good infos.

Jesus chill out.

Hawaii Beach (talkcontribs)

now why the hell does people use "Edit %APPDATA%\BioshockHD\Bioshock\Bioshock.ini" instead of "Go to the configuration file location and open Bioshock.ini with your text editor of choice."? I thought it was a standard?

RaTcHeT302 (talkcontribs)

The first one is more intuitive, having to click a link which sends you to another section isn't as great seeing as the whole page might jump around, or maybe you aren't sure what you need to be looking at, I don't really like doing the link thing but it's easier to keep the paths consistent that way.

Hawaii Beach (talkcontribs)

Yeah, I guess you're right. But it makes the entire page look foolish as we've already said the path multiple times, if this was programming code instead I'd puke. You don't specify 90000 times where the config dir is located at.

Bioshock non Steam redemption.

I have a version from Direct2Drive (back when they were GameFly and Gamefly gave it away for free for a day), which is just the game, GFWL is stripped. 2K mentions on their FAQ to shoot them a holler first and ask them, then to consult 2K if they wont budge. Well, D2D gave me my Steam copy today so I can vouch.

Mouse Smoothing doesn't have a line and it's off by default. If you add the line MouseSmoothingMode= 1 turns it on and 0 off. mouse acceleration is off because MouseAccelThreshold is set to 0. Is there some reason why you want to bind it to a key? I think the reason why the mouse is all over the place is because the sensitivity is jacked up to 2500 and should be at around 800.
