Widescreen resolution

Modify resolutions
  1. Go to %LOCALAPPDATA%\torcs\config
  2. Open Screen.xml with a text editor.
  3. Edit your desired resolution:
    • <attnum name="x" val="X"/> - Width
    • <attnum name="y" val="X"/> - Height
  4. Save the file.
X represents the resolution number

The controller sticks don't work in-race, but the buttons work.
  1. In the controller settings, click the Calibrate button and follow the instructions on the bottom of the screen to determine left and right steering.[2]

Split-screen

A controller is highly recommended to play split-screen. Requires others USB controller connectors for 4 players.
Instructions
  1. Download the split-screen file here.
  2. Extract ssrace.xml to <path-to-game>\config\raceman.
  3. Create Player 2 (4 for quad split-screen) in "Configure players" menu and set the controls to player 2.
  4. Select "Split-screen race" in race menu.
  5. In race starting grid setup menu, set the created player to grid.

Notes

For 4 players quad split-screen mode, press ] to split to 4 screens.
