Version differences[edit]

Stronghold 2 Deluxe is the 2005 re-release with 3 exclusive AI lords, a new skirmish trail mode, and exclusive maps.
Stronghold 2: Steam Edition is the 2017 enhanced release with Steamworks multiplayer, Workshop integration, an exclusive map pack, widescreen support, and some redone graphics.

The newest patch for the non-Steam version is 1.41. Patches for the game can be found here.
The Steam version received a special patch and shows version 1.5 Steam.
